Happy Birthday To Me

My horoscope today from Direct TV:


That's the most surreal thing I've ever read. Visions of seductive sharks in the ocean of my life. I'm pretty much wary of sharks, talking or not.

I'm hoping this is an ad, and not just elaborate graffiti. Is the magic the fact that the fox isn't eating the rabbits? 


Signs say 'SLIDE AREA' and I thought, 'Oh, fun! A slide!' Nooooo. They mean mudslides. As in, one heavy rain will take this hill down. This is on Sunset Blvd, a kind of busy place for traffic, human and auto. This is part of the reason Angelinos don't move in the rain:


What kind of people build a house on the edge of a hill of slideable dirt? 


Of course, with the face-melting, brain bubbling heat we've been having lately, a little downpour might be just the thing.

The L.A. Hikers Assn. tweeted: "You have nothing to prove. Stay home."

Such is life in Los Angeles. I love it.
